These are my notes as an attendee at ‘Data Science Seminar: Agentic AI — who does what?’, held on 27 May 2026.
The University of Tartu’s Data Science Seminar at the Delta building focused on agentic AI: how work is shared between people, AI agents, teams and the organisation.
What I took away
Seeing research and business perspectives side by side was especially interesting. Researchers highlighted the difficulties of accuracy, control and integration into workflows. Businesses showed how AI is already being used beyond experiments.
How I use this in my work
I draw on this when discussing organisation-wide AI adoption in training. Individual tools offer small gains; the larger impact comes when AI is integrated systematically across departments, workflows and responsibilities.

Responsibility also includes deciding which data and tools an AI agent can access. The guide to MCP connections explains how those connections work and why reading and editing permissions need separate consideration.
